Four Weddings And A Funeral beauty Andie MacDowell and high school classmate Rhett Hartzog wed in a private ceremony on Saturday in Asheville, North Carolina, not far from her hometown. Two hundred guests looked on as Andie, 43, said “I do” in a strapless, satin, oyster-white Vera Wang gown accented by antique clips holding back her signature curly brown locks.

“It was just real sweet and simple,” said the actress’s sister, Babs Rogers Richard, of the intimate ceremony. “Both her daughters, the nieces and nephews were involved in the wedding.”

Andie’s 15-year-old son Justin walked her down the aisle, despite having torn a ligament the night before while playing basketball. But thanks to a pair of crutches, he was able to do his mum proud in front at the Central United Methodist Church ceremony. A reception followed at the Biltmore Forest Country Club.

“I am very happy for her,” the bride’s father said in July when the couple announced their engagement. “I know they have given it a lot of thought. He is a friend she has known a long time. They’ve known each other since grammar school and through high school.”

The newlyweds, classmates at South Carolina’s Gaffney High School in the late Seventies, became reacquainted last year when they met for lunch in Atlanta where Rhett, a businessman, was selling jewellery. The couple plan to make their home in Biltmore Forest, North Carolina.

This is the L’Oreal spokesmodel’s second marriage. She split up with her first husband, Paul Qualley, in 1999 after 13 years of marriage. Qualley is the father of her three children.
