Although their divorce battle is said to have been acrimonious, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are prepared to put it all behind them for the sake of their children. The two Hollywood heavyweights are to spend Christmas together at Nicole’s parents’ Sydney home, so that eight-year-old Isabella and Connor, two years her junior, can enjoy the festive period.

The actress is already in Australia – where, it is rumoured, she has been spending a lot of time with Robbie Williams, with whom she has recorded a duet, Somethin’ Stupid. The two have shot a steamy video for the song, which is expected to be Britain’s Christmas Number One this year.

Nicole’s estranged husband will be heading Down Under to promote his new movie, Vanilla Sky, in which he stars alongside his new love, Penelope Cruz. The Australian premiere is scheduled for December 26 and Tom is expected to spend the week prior to the film’s first night in the lively city – alongside his Spanish señorita, of course.

The diminutive actor has also been busy looking for new projects. Tom has signed up to play the lead in Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella’s new movie, Cold Mountain, said to be an American Civil War epic. Although filming has not yet started, a crew has already begun scouting for locations in North Carolina and Canada.
