Alison Eastwood, the daughter of acting legend Clint, has traded the lights, camera and action for needles and pins. The 29-year-old actress and model has announced plans for her own clothing company, called Eastwood Ranch, of which she will be director of design. The line aims to combine authentic western styling – of which Madonna is clearly a big fan – with a fresh, sexy look.

“I spent my childhood in Carmel around horses and on ranches, and am fortunate that my inspiration comes from that amazing time in my life,” enthused the tall, blue-eyed beauty. “I look forward to translating that passion into my creative contribution and direction for this company.”

The clothes, mainly leatherwear, denim and separates, will debut in the spring of next year and will at first only be available at the chicest of shopping emporiums in the States. And Alison will not be the first member of her family to go into the fashion world – believe it or not, Clint already has his own successful golf and sportswear line, Tehama.
