Heart-throb David Boreanaz of TV’s Angel wed actress and former Playboy pin-up Jamie Bergman in a private, but swanky ceremony on Saturday in Palm Springs. The two had planned to walk down the aisle two months ago with much fanfare, but following the tragic events of September 11 pushed back their nuptials and opted for a smaller affair.

“They postponed and downscaled,” reports a publicist. “Saturday’s ceremony was more intimate, with just family and close personal friends.”

The two were married at the Ingleside Inn, a favourite spot of Hollywood legend Greta Garbo and one of Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous’ Ten Best inns.

While the newlyweds were said to be over the moon, filming commitments have forced them to put off their honeymoon plans. David is busy shooting more episodes of Angel for US network Warner Brothers while Jamie is at work on the Baywatch spoof Son Of A Beach for FX.

The photogenic pair got engaged in July during a romantic hike in the California desert after just two months together.

This was David’s second trip to the altar. He married social worker Ingrid Quinn in 1997 but they split up two years later amidst rumours he was moonlighting with his Buffy The Vampire Slayer co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar. (David later got his own spin-off series and Buffy announced her engagement to She’s All That hunk Freddie Prinze Jr.)

Jamie, Playboy’s 45th Anniversary Playmate, was previously linked with Pearl Harbor director Michael Bay.
