TOM GREEN AND DREW BARRYMORE CALL IT QUITS AFTER LESS THAN A YEAR OF MARRIAGE

Gross-out comic Tom Green has filed for divorce from Never Been Kissed star Drew Barrymore after less than a year of marriage, citing the oft-used “irreconcilable differences” in documents filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court.

“Drew is a wonderful woman,” he said. “I love her very much. I wish our marriage could have worked out. I wish her much happiness.”

There was no comment from Drew’s spokesperson. According to the court papers the couple split on December 11.

The two met on the set of Charlie’s Angels, the blockbuster film she starred in and produced, and soon struck up a romance. Sadly, they were immediately challenged by the unthinkable: Tom was diagnosed with testicular cancer in early 2000. Drew remained by her new beau’s side, and following a combination of treatment and laughter, Tom was given a clean bill of health. The couple wed in an ultra private Malibu ceremony in July 2001 in front of close friends and family.

Insiders, however, say this may not be the end for the couple. The wacky duo have pulled stunts before, including a pregnancy prank and a series of fake-out wedding announcements. Some reports claim they had actually tied the knot in March 2001, though details remain unclear.

“Anything is possible with these two. Don’t count them out yet,” a pal told the New York Post.

This was Drew’s second marriage. She parted with Los Angeles bar owner and Brit Jeremy Thomas in 1994 after just 19 days of marriage.
