The split between Drew Barrymore and her husband comic Tom Green seems to be turning into one of Hollywood’s friendliest bust-ups. The actress’ soon-to-be ex calls her “a wonderful woman”, while Drew has declared she still loves Tom, saying they’ll always be friends.
“Yes, its true we decided to part,” said the Charlie’s Angels star, who was seen sporting her wedding ring at a benefit just hours after divorce papers were filed. “I love Tom. He has always been a great friend and that won’t change.”
Tom released his own equally amicable statement on Monday, when the break up was announced, saying, “Drew is a wonderful woman. I love her very much.” According to divorce papers filed in Los Angeles, the couple officially separated on December 11.
The split was met with scepticism by many, as the couple are famous for similar pranks. Yet spokespeople for Tom and Drew – who have started rumours about their own wedding and a pregnancy to fool the press in the past – say this time the announcement is for real. “I don’t think the break up is a hoax,” said Drew’s new PR representative, Jennifer Allen.
