BILLY BOB THORNTON AND ANGELINA JOLIE PLAN HOME-MADE GIFTS THIS CHRISTMAS

They are one of Hollywood’s many millionaire marrieds, but that doesn’t mean Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton are indulging in up-market shopping sprees this Christmas. The offbeat Sling Blade star says he and his wife are instead exchanging only one gift – and it has to be home-made.

“We decided to give each other one thing apiece,” Billy Bob told AP Radio. “And that’s something we’ll make. If you knew anything about how little we know how to make, it’s pretty hilarious.”

Angelina is apparently not a procrastinator as it seems she’s already been hard at work on a gift for her hubby, though the jury is still out on whether the endeavor will be a success. “She’s ruined a few things trying to make me something already,” discloses Billy Bob. “Like she tried to knit a scarf and it was a real disaster.”

The eccentric couple is infamous for their odd gift-giving habits. Past presents have included identical lockets containing each other’s blood – “When we’re apart we have a little bit of each other,” Billy Bob explained recently – and a lovely set of his and hers burial plots. When the two wed in 2000, the Bandits star celebrated by using his own blood to create a painting for his new wife.

The idiosyncratic Oscar winner is keeping this year’s DIY Christmas gift a secret, but he says he’s sure she’ll like it. “I’m just making her a little thing. I mean, it’s very simple what I’m making her. It’s not weird or particularly interesting, but to her, it will be,” he says.
