Pulp Fiction star Uma Thurman was looking as gorgeous as ever, despite being in the final weeks of pregnancy, when she turned out for a Christie’s of New York auction benefiting Tibet House, a cultural and Buddhist center co-founded by her father.
Uma was joined at the New York event last week by her mum Nena, a Swedish ex-model and managing director of the charitable organisation. Other celebs on hand include Christy Turlington, Sting’s wife Trudie Styler, and designer Donna Karan.
Uma is expecting her second child with husband Ethan Hawke in January. The couple, who met on the set of the 1997 sci-fi thriller Gattica, have a three-year-old daughter, Maya Ray.
The soon-to-be mother of two is already preparing to begin work on Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming action film Kill Bill, which begins shooting in the middle of next year. Uma reportedly began martial arts training for the role while pregnant and was recently spotted at a New York screening of a kung-fu flick. “I'm here doing my homework,” she told reporters.
Kill Bill was written specifically for the Beautiful Girls star, and Quentin opted to postpone filming rather than re-cast when she announced her pregnancy. “I'm going to wait for Uma,” Quentin said. “She is my actress.”
