Pierce Brosnan is starring as James Bond for a fourth time, marking the 40th anniversary of the classic film series. And despite speculation that this would be his last appearance in the role that made him a household name, Pierce says he’s keen to don 007’s tuxedo for a fifth go round.
“I will do another one,” said the suave Irish actor, 48. “Time has gone by so quickly. It seems like only yesterday I was sitting here for GoldenEye.”
Shooting for the 20th Bond movie, directed by Lee Tamahori, started today at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, before moving onto a hive of glamorous locations including Hawaii, Iceland, Cuba, Hong Kong, and London. Not to mention the glamorous women – this time, the secret agent is ably supported by Halle Berry and British theatre actress Rosamund Pike who, with her appearance in this movie, as yet untitled, has bagged her first film role.
Pierce will be up against a two-faced baddie, who possesses what is described as a “facial mutation device”, acted by British actor Toby Stevens and Korean actor Rick Yune, who has in the past modelled successfully for Ralph Lauren. As ever, there will gadgets galore, with a denouement featuring an “amazing new weapon,” according to the film’s producers.
