Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have put to rest their $50 million court battle with an Italian jeweller who sold copies of their exclusive wedding bands. As part of the "amicable" settlement with Damiani International reached Friday, the Hollywood couple will now be working for the company to design and market a line of jewellery.
“The legal proceedings… have been amicably resolved and were the result of an unfortunate misunderstanding,” said a spokeswoman for the jeweller.
According to the agreement, the Ocean’s 11 actor, who worked with high end jeweller to design the white gold and diamond rings he and Jennifer exchanged during their July, 2001 nuptials, will create a collection for the firm. His Friends star wife will feature in Damiani ads that will run in a number of countries outside North America.
Brad and Jen filed suit last summer, claiming Damiani breached an agreement to never replicate the one of a kind wedding bands. The couple charged that by reproducing and selling the $1000 knockoffs, the jeweller forced “perhaps the world’s most famous couple” to serve as “unwilling shills” for the company.
