After a string of hit movies and pats on the back from the film establishment, Hollywood celebs Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt have yet another reason to celebrate – British filmgoers have voted them the two most glamorous stars in films today.

Mother-of-two Nicole stormed home in first place among the ladies polling more than half of the votes, far ahead of nearest rival Tomb Raider Angelina Jolie on 18 per cent. Tinseltown’s highest-paid actress Julia Roberts trailed in third place with Gwyneth Paltrow close behind. And the Moulin Rouge star also won out over ex-husband Tom Cruise’s new girlfriend Penelope Cruz, who came in fifth on five per cent.

The poll of 1,000 filmgoers was organised by BAFTA sponsor Orange ahead of the award ceremony on Sunday. Nicole’s win is yet another accolade in a string of successes, including a BAFTA nomination for The Others and an Oscar nomination for her Moulin role.

Ocean’s 11 actor Brad topped the boys list catching a majority of the hearts of those polled, proving that his recent marriage to Friends star Jennifer Aniston has done no harm to his screen image. However, he only narrowly beat A Beautiful Mind’s Russell Crowe, who came in with 41 per cent of the vote.

The pair left rivals in the dust, with Tom Cruise in third place on just three per cent and Robert De Niro and Robert Redford level pegging with one per cent each.
