Following a busy year on the silver screen – he has appeared in the film noir The Man Who Wasn’t There, crime flick Bandits and Monster’s Ball – Billy Bob Thornton has now refocused on his music career.
The actor, who once earned his living as a drummer, is about to embark upon a two- week tour to promote his new album, Private Radio. He will perform tracks from the album, as well as songs from an upcoming disc, at a series of small venues in eight US cities kicking off in LA on May 17.
“These songs are incredibly personal to me, and I think the best way to share them with an audience is in an intimate setting where they can really feel the emotion in them, “ said the star who co-wrote most of the songs on the album.
Private Radio was released last Autumn to mixed reviews. Respected music mag Rolling Stone described the disc as a “pleasing Southern Gothic exploration in mid-tempo twang, bad-boy rockabilly revelries and dark balladry”.
