Beverly Hills 90210 star Jason Priestley walked away unharmed after a crash in a powerboat racing competition at the weekend. The actor and the two drivers of the other craft emerged without a scratch, but Jason's teammate Dan Campbell suffered cracked ribs.

The two speed boats hit during the first leg of the Fountain Miami Super Boat Grand Prix off Miami Beach. Competing craft reach speeds of up to 180 miles per hour, but Jason played down what could have been a very nasty accident, saying it was “just a part of racing.”

“It wasn’t scary at all,” said the actor. “We hit pretty good… When it became clear we were going to make contact, my job was to avoid flipping over. Boats at that speed – anything stupid can make the incident a lot worse.”

The 32-year-old, who has raced cars with Paul Newman and recently set a Superboat lap speed record of 147.4 miles per hour on NY’s Hudson River, admits he’s a bit of a daredevil. “Anything with fossil fuels that’s possible to be in competition, I’ll show up,” he says.

The next high-speed activity for the thrill-seeking star will be the Indy Racing Infinity Pro Series at Michigan International Raceway in July.
