Box office phenomenon Spider-Man scored £77.5 million on its opening weekend, easily surpassing previous record holder Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone’s £61.4 million opening take. And just days after the comic book adventure’s overwhelmingly successful stateside release, it has been confirmed that the film’s stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst will be reprising their roles in a sequel.

The second instalment, Spider-Man 2, is already underway, with filming set to begin early next year.

The effects-laden Spider-Man shot to number one at the box office, and the popular film has made another rather interesting top ten as well.

Scores of attentive fans have logged on to the website movie-mistakes.com, which documents continuity errors in films, to list dozens of such problems in the flick, from dirty clothes that suddenly become clean to broken windows that repair themselves. As a result, the film has become the fastest-ever to enter the site’s Top 10 error list, joining other hit films The Matrix, Titanic and The Lord Of The Rings.
