There are many ways to thank your child’s teachers, but actor Pierce Brosnan has done it in true 007 style by throwing with a lavish party at a top London hotel for the staff at his son’s school.

Pierce took time off from filming the latest Bond instalment Die Another Day to invite eight teachers from his son Sean’s school, Millfield in Somerset, England, to spend an evening in sophisticated style. The actor booked the group of educators into a set of lavish £325-a-night rooms at Claridges Hotel before treating them to a reception where they sipped fine champagne and wines before tucking into a four-course dinner.

“It was a fantastic evening out,” said one of the teachers from the school. “It was totally unexpected – a one-off.”

And it wasn’t just the teachers who got in on the fun. All of the sixth formers who share a house with 18-year-old Sean were invited along for the bash as well. “It’s the talk of the parents at the school,” a parent told the Daily Mail. “It was a lovely gesture to make. But it has made the rest of us parents feeling rather guilty.”

Sean is currently studying A-levels in theatre studies, drama and media at the £18,000-a-year public school, and hopes to go on to RADA to pursue an acting career.
