‘I WAS BORN TO BE THE WIFE OF THIS MAN’ SAYS JULIA ROBERTS

Her many romances have been the stuff of Hollywood legend, but twice-married and thrice-engaged actress Julia Roberts says she’s finally found the perfect guy in her new husband Danny Moder. In fact, the actress reveals in an interview on US breakfast programme Good Morning America, he’s unlike any man she’s ever known.

“He is formidable,” she says. “He is a man among men, unselfish and all-encompassing. He stands by the choices he has made. He will never blame it on somebody else, and I have never seen anybody else do that.”

One of those choices was to seek a divorce from wife Vera after falling in love with the Hollywood star he met on the set of The Mexican in 2000. And despite what she calls a “terribly complicated” situation, she says she and Danny were simply meant to be together: “I was born to love and be the wife of this man.”

The pair were married in a top-secret midnight ceremony on July 4, and Julia says she and her new hubby look forward to having kids. However, she did quash rumours that she had announced she wanted a “gaggle of children”. “I never said that,” she explained. “You know, we want to have a family and we will have a family in due course… It’ll be great.”

Talk of marriage and children brings to mind Julia’s love of four years, Benjamin Bratt, who married actress Talisa Soto less than a year after he and Julia’s 2001 split. The Law And Order hunk, who once compared his famous ex-girlfriend’s fame to a mosquito buzzing in his ear, was the one who called it quits on the high-profile relationship. He’s now expecting his first child with his new wife.

“I figure he is kind of making his choices,” says Julia, “so all the better because he was unhappy and he left... and found happiness in a place where there aren’t any mosquitoes.”
