As the world honours the memory of Elvis Presley 25 years on, the King’s little princess has tied the knot with one of Hollywood’s heavy hitters.
Publicists for Lisa Marie Presley and Face/Off star Nicolas Cage confirmed the couple married on Saturday at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel on the Big Island's sunny Kohala Coast.
"The wedding was in front of immediate family and friends," says Lisa Marie's publicist Paul Block. The nuptials were attended by Lisa Marie’s two children, her mum Priscilla Presley, and Nicolas’ son Weston from a previous marriage.
The happy occasion comes two months after the famous pair, who split last January after a year-long romance, made a surprise appearance hand in hand at the LA premiere of the actor's most recent film Windtalkers.
No word on honeymoon plans, but it is said that the pair returned to Los Angeles on Sunday, where Nicolas is hard at work on the upcoming Matchstick Men directed by Ridley Scott. Lisa Marie, the CEO of Elvis Presley Enterprises, and her mother are thought to be attending a concert in Elvis’s memory in Memphis on Friday, while Nicolas is expected to be in France on August 30 for the world premiere of his directing debut Sonny at the Deauville Festival of American Film.
Nicolas has been married twice - to model Kristina Fulton and to actress Patricia Arquette, whom he divorced in 2000. The wedding also marks the third marriage for the 34-year-old ex-wife of Michael Jackson, who has two children, Danielle and Benjamin, from her first marriage to musician Danny Keogh.
