The highly-anticipated prequel to Silence Of The Lambs premiered in New York on Monday, with the film’s appetizing cast of actors all on hand for the debut. Red Dragon’s sexy stars Ralph Fiennes, Ed Norton and Anthony Hopkins, who returns as cannibal Hannibal Lecter for the third time, strolled up the red carpet along with A-list guests including Sean “P Diddy” Combs and former first daughter Chelsea Clinton.

The screening of the thriller seemed to make for the perfect date night, as Ed and Ralph came accompanied by their gorgeous actress partners, Salma Hayek and Francesca Annis, while Chelsea arrived on the arm of her boyfriend Ian Klaus. P Diddy and fellow I Need A Girl rap star Loon, on the other hand, represented the Big Apple bachelors.

Two-time Oscar nominee Ralph takes a career turn in the latest Hannibal Lecter instalment, playing a beefy tattooed serial killer who spends much of the film nude. “I’m certainly bigger than I normally am in the movie,” says the actor. “I had to work out a lot.”

With only eight weeks to get ready for the role, Ralph says he “did everything I could to put on more muscle”. “Ideally, I would have like to have had six months to get really big,” he adds, “but I think it tells the story enough.”

Red Dragon, which also stars Harvey Keitel and Emily Watson, opens in the US on Friday and screens in the UK October 11.
