Former bra model Kelly Brook’s show biz future was in question two years ago after a disastrous six-month stint as a Big Breakfast presenter, but these days it seems her star is back on the rise. The 22-year-old beauty’s career is hotting up stateside, and she’s now joining the cast of hit American show Sex And The City.
The Kent-born actress will play the role of a sexy relative of Kristin Davis’s character, Charlotte, on the Emmy-winning comedy series.
Producers of the programme, struck by the similarities between Kelly and the Sex And The City star, signed her on to a £100,000, several-episode contract after seeing her work in Smallville, a US TV drama revolving around a teenage Superman.
Kelly, who began modelling as a teenager, moved to LA to pursue Hollywood stardom in 2000 with her actor boyfriend, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels star Jason Statham.
“I love and miss Britain, but I’ve decided to take my career in a different direction and that's here,” she said at the time. “If I don't make the move now I never will… I want to broaden my horizons.”
