He's on a hot streak after the blazing success of XXX, but it doesn't look like Vin Diesel plans to be a stereotypical big screen action hero. The beefy star has revealed that he's considering starring in a big screen version of Broadway musical Guys And Dolls – and he's talked to Moulin Rouge actress Nicole Kidman about signing on as well.
"Nicole is excited about the idea, so I think it may happen," said the actor, speaking during a teleconference promoting the upcoming release of XXX on DVD. "I've got a couple of other movies I have to do first and so does she, so it won't happen immediately."
Though he's earned a reputation as an action star, Vin added that he's no stranger to the musical genre. "I grew up with a father who was heavily into the theatre arts, and musicals were a big part of that, so I've always loved musicals. I don't know how good a singer I am, but I know I can carry a tune."
The former bouncer, who has already inked deals for sequels to XXX and Pitch Black, was spotted with Nicole at the Beverly Hills Hotel's Polo Lounge in September. The flame-haired Aussie's representative confirmed the two were discussing a possible project.
