Some famous mums and dads decided to make the US screening of Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets a family affair on Sunday, strolling up the red carpet with their kids.
Irish hunk Liam Neeson, One Hour star Robin Williams and Alien's Sigourney Weaver were among the celebrities who brought their children to see the highly-anticipated fantasy flick, rousing an enthusiastic greeting from hundreds of fans outside New York's Ziegfield Theatre.
In the new instalment, Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint – who were also at the Big Apple debut – reprise their roles as students at the Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and other cast members from Dame Maggie Smith to Alan Rickman, are back as well.
A new addition to the series, actor Kenneth Branagh, recently said joining the blockbuster cast was "nerve-wracking". "You were aware that it was a great big film. As much as there were expectations for the first one, there'd be equally great or greater expectations for the second one," he explains.
And so far, high box office returns look like they might easily be met. Previews of the movie over the weekend in the UK made £7.8 million – £1.2 million pounds more than sneak showings of the first film, Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, brought in last year.
