Gladiator star Russell Crowe is no stranger to high-profile confrontations – and now, say reports, he's been involved in yet another violent public row.
British newspaper The Sun reports the star brawled with a fellow New Zealander, multi-millionaire entrepreneur Eric Watson, while on a night out at trendy London eaterie Zuma on Tuesday. Witnesses say former EastEnders star Ross Kemp, who was dining at a nearby table, leapt into the altercation and separated the two as security staff at the restaurant called police in for help. Though police reportedly quizzed Russell about the bust-up, no arrests were made.
The fight between Russell and the one of the wealthiest men in New Zealand apparently began in the loo before spilling out into the bar area. "One of Crowe's minders rushed in after hearing shouting and found Crowe lying on the ground with the other guy on top of him," one witness was quoted as saying.
"When police arrived the situation was under control," confirmed a police spokesperson. "No allegations of a crime were received and there will be no futher police action."
This week's incident is the latest in the Oscar winner's history of feuds. In addition to reported run-ins with Moby and an actor in Mexico this year, in February the beefy screen star famously got physical with a TV exec after his BAFTA best actor acceptance speech was cut short.
