Their marriage ended in 1999 after four years together, but it looks like screen siren Angelina Jolie and her British ex-husband, actor Jonny Lee Miller, may be giving romance another chance.

Rumours began after Angelina began calling her ex-hubby's film company Natural Nylon this summer, but a representative for the actor said it was all strictly business. However, after she said she was hopeful of "finding her way back" to him – and after the break-up of Jonny's engagement to Holby City's Lisa Faulkner – the two were recently spotted getting close during a romantic meal in London.

The Trainspotting star has admitted he is "good friends" with his Oscar-winning ex-wife, who split from her second husband, Billy Bob Thornton, in July. And two months ago, Angelina revealed: "I would like to tell Jonny that I love him, but I think he already knows." Explaining the trouble with their marriage, she explained: "I wanted to commit to Jonny, but he deserved more than I was prepared to give him at the time."

Now mother to baby Maddox, whom she adopted from Cambodia this year, the famously quirky actress seems to be a changed woman. "Maddox has really centered me... he's made me the best person I could possibly be," she told US TV programme Entertainment Tonight this week.

On Monday the star gave thanks to doctors who recently treated her son after an on-set accident, donating £50,000 to Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
