KIM BASINGER AND ALEC BALDWIN AGREE COMPLEX CUSTODY PLAN

It looks like 8 Mile star Kim Basinger and her actor husband Alec Baldwin have finally settled the child custody battle over daughter Ireland. However, the rules governing the couple's raising of the seven-year-old are as complicated as Kim and Alec's famously volatile relationship, which ended in divorce early this year.

A five-page agreement filed in LA Superior Court appears to cover Ireland's parents' every move when it comes to her welfare – and keep contact between the acrimonious former couple to a minimum.

According to the New York Daily News, the document limits hours that Alec may call his daughter, who will live with his estranged wife, to a one hour window in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Kim has agreed to install a phone in Ireland's bedroom equipped with voice mail or an answering machine – at her ex-husband's expense – and must teach the youngster how to retrieve the messages herself.

Alec – who will spend the third weekend of each month with his little girl, but only between noon and 6:30pm – will receive Friday e-mails from his ex-wife "summarizing Ireland's weekly activities". It seems phone contact between the former couple will be almost nonexistent – the Pearl Harbor star can only call Kim in case of emergency.

The Oscar-winning actress' representative refused to comment on the truce, while a spokesperson for Alec said: "Alec believes that he and Kim are taking all the necessary steps to successfully co-parent their child as a divorced couple."
