Screen legend Zsa Zsa Gabor is to sue her hairdresser for £65 million over the car accident that left her in a coma last week, according to press reports. The Hungarian-born actress suffered head injuries and several broken bones in the accident and was unable to speak until the weekend.
Zsa Zsa, 85, was travelling as a passenger in the Chevy Camaro when it smashed into a lamp post on Sunset Boulevard. She says her hairstylist had been driving at excessive speed.
Her eighth husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, said that Zsa Zsa had been unconscious for a "long, long time," but that her condition is starting to improve. Doctors say she will have to remain in Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre where she is being treated for at least six weeks.
The cause of the accident remains a mystery though the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has disclosed that Zsa Zsa was not wearing a seatbelt. No arrests have been made and drugs or alcohol are not thought to be a factor.
"The driver’s insurance company is going to have to pay out a great deal for this accident. It has destroyed Zsa Zsa’s life," said von Anhalt.
