Julia Roberts may have only released one film so far this year – the little seen Full Frontal – but a new list shows that her power potential is still hot.

A new survey by trade newspaper The Hollywood Reporter names the Pretty Woman - who now commands well over $20 million per film - as the highest paid actress in Tinseltown for the second year in a row. However, she ranked as number 12 on the list of the top 100 most powerful women in show biz as a whole.

Charlie's Angels actress Cameron Diaz is hot on Julia's heels in the paycheque rankings: having broken into the $20 million a film bracket, she took second place on the highest paid list.

After her came stars who have been diversifying into off-screen roles, including actress-director Jodie Foster, Flower Films boss Drew Barrymore and business-savvy Jennifer Lopez, who each earn up to $15 million a film.

Reese Witherspoon's earning potential is on the rise, as she'll be taking home that amount for the sequel to Legally Blonde - 15 times more than she made for the first instalment of the hit comedy - so she's also landed in the top ten.

On the overall list of the 100 most powerful women, movie mogul Sherry Lansing, who became the first female chairman of Paramount Pictures in 1992, came in at number one. Pop icon Madonna finds herself at number 60, while other celebrities on the list include Harry Potter author JK Rowling at number 64, and chat show queen Oprah Winfrey at number eight.
