A wild night was had by all on Friday when the animated movie The Wild Thornberrys premiered in London. Celebrities attending the event agreed to pose with some of the show's other (rather less glamorous) guests to raise money for the World Wildlife Fund.
The movie tells the tale of the Thornberry family, who travel the world in their mobile home filming wildlife documentaries. The protagonist, gawky 12-year-old Eliza, is able to talk to animals thanks to a spell cast by an African witch doctor.
After showing herself to be a little too fearless, Eliza is sent off to boarding school by her family but, needless to say, she won't be staying cooped up in England for long. Her animal friends need her – not to mention her zany adopted brother, who was raised by apes.
The TV series that spawned the film is coming to an end in the US, despite the fact that the movie was a big hit there. New converts to Thornberry-mania need not fret, however, as another movie, The Rugrats Meet the Wild Thornberrys, is due out this summer.
