Rumours that Jude Law and Sadie Frost's marriage is on the rocks have been scotched by friends. It had been reported that the pair were on the verge of splitting up, but the actress' closest confidante says the stories are completely false.
Jemima French also insists that reports of a suicide attempt are absurd. The rumours erupted after Sadie jetted home from Los Angeles alone on Sunday following a hospitalisation last week. "It's a completely fabricated, ridiculous story," said Jemima. "It's been completely over-exaggerated."
It is known that Jude was deeply upset by an incident last year when their two year-old daughter Iris partially swallowed an ecstasy tablet and almost died. The premature birth of their son Rudy in September fuelled pressures on the couple, but both Sadie and Jude are committed parents and partners.
"Sadie has been badly affected by post-natal depression in the past but she is on the road to recovery," said one friend. "She and Jude have a strong, supportive marriage and they are devoted to their children."
Press reports that they have just bought a house in London's Belsize Park would seem to confirm they are still together, and intend to stay that way. They will be able to spend more time as a family when Jude starts work on the sci-fi thriller World Of Tomorrow, which begins filming in London next month.
