Reese Witherspoon has toppled Julia Roberts as Hollywood's most bankable actress. The 26-year-old has been named by Entertainment Weekly as Hollywood's top female box-office draw, leaving the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman and Cameron Diaz trailing behind.
Her most recent film, Sweet Home Alabama, was a smash hit in the US, where it grossed $125 million, and she is reported to be banking $15 million for her next movie, Legally Blonde II.
Also climbing in the rankings is Renee Zellweger, who came in at second place. The Chicago star pushed aside Nicole Kidman, leaving her in third position. Hopefully there will be no hard feelings between the two as they finish up work on Cold Mountain in which they star opposite British heart-throb Jude Law.
Julia Roberts, meanwhile, had to settle for fourth place after several years at the top. The Oscar-winning actress, who was the first woman to join the $20-million-per-movie club, is still regarded as the industry's most influential female, however. The youngest person to make the top ten was Kirsten Dunst, who at the age of 20 will reportedly receive $9 million for reprising her Spider-Man role.
