Leicester Square got a serious dose of "Jenny On The Block" excitement on Wednesday when one of the world's most sought-after women came visiting. Jennifer Lopez was in town for the UK premiere of her new film Maid In Manhattan - and Londoners went positively bananas over their glamorous guest.
She spent 20 minutes chatting with the crowd of over 2,000 ecstatic fans before heading into the glitzy screening. The film tells the story of a politician who falls in love with an impoverished chambermaid after mistaking her for a wealthy hotel guest.
"That's who I am," Jen told reporters at the event. "I started out in the Bronx, I know what it's like to get on the train every day and work nine to five and to have dreams and aspirations. I definitely see a lot of myself in the character."
Dressed in a daringly low-cut Yves Saint Laurent dress and a white fur jacket, the 32-year-old enchanted photographers and fans alike as she arrived on the red carpet. Her British co-star Ralph Fiennes was also in attendance, though there was no sign of Jennifer's hunky fiancé Ben Affleck.
The actress, who has been touring Europe to promote the film, is said to have brought an entourage of 35 with her, including security guards, hairdressers, a personal fitness trainer, a dietary adviser and make-up artists.
She has suffered numerous jibes from the press over the size of her "team", not to mention the frosty reception given the film itself. The lack of critical enthusiasm couldn't hold back the enthusiasm of the huge crowd J-Lo lovers gathered in Leicester Square, however.
Other big names who turned out for the glittering event included Richard Branson, Melinda Messenger, Bob Hoskins and Natasha Richardson.
