Sir Anthony Hopkins tied the knot with his partner Stella Arroyave at his Malibu home at the weekend. The 65-year-old Welshman wed his new love in a small ceremony attended only by family and a select group of close friends.
The Hannibal star met his South American bride, who is an antiques dealer, while shopping in Los Angeles in 2001. The two first appeared out together at the premiere of his film Bad Company last year, and have been dating ever since.
Sir Anthony, who has often been criticised for turning his back on Wales, chose the most important date in his country's calendar to hold the event. There was also a daffodil theme at the St David's Day nuptials.
Among the guests at the ceremony were Steven Spielberg, Winona Ryder, Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mickey Rooney. "It was a lovely service. Anthony looked so happy," said Mickey afterwards.
The 46-year-old brunette is Anthony's third wife. He divorced Jenni Lynton last year, and was also married to Petronella Barker, with whom he has a daughter, Abigail, now 34.
