Catherine Zeta-Jones' gran has been telling of her joy after hearing her newborn great grand-daughter's name. For the original Zeta Jones had feared her first name might not be carried on by future generations of the Jones clan.
Catherine adopted Zeta as her middle name, and has now decided to pass it on by calling her daughter Carys Zeta-Douglas.
"I'm delighted that Catherine is keeping the name alive," said 86-year-old Zeta. "Carys is just like her mother – she knows how to make a big entrance."
The 33-year-old actress gave birth to her second child with husband Michael Douglas at a private hospital in New Jersey on Sunday. "Carys is a beautiful, healthy baby – I'm very happy," said proud dad Michael afterwards.
And the champagne was flowing at the couple's £2-million Manhattan apartment that night, as Catherine's mum and dad flew in to help their daughter and son-in-law celebrate. As expected, the couple opted to give their new baby a Welsh first name. Carys means "the beloved one" in the language of the star's homeland.
