The iconic Californian kids that burst onto our screens in Beverly Hills 90210 are to make their return. And the show looks set to be the ultimate high school reunion, as Jason Priestly, Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty and the rest of the gang return to the Peach Pit diner ten years on.
When the legendary series debuted, with a then unknown Jason and Shannen in the lead roles, it was panned by critics. But viewers tuned in week after week to see how Minnesota twins Brenda and Brandon would fare after moving to Los Angeles.
A decade of peer-pressure, cosmetic surgery and emotional trials and tribulations followed, not to mention phenomenal ratings success. At one stage the kids of West Beverly boasted 20 per cent of America's teenage viewers.
Fox Television's longest-running drama eventually came to an end in 2000, but not before spawning a successful spin-off series,Melrose Place. The forthcoming reunion will be an interview special, as opposed to a new episode, with the cast discussing how the show impacted on their lives and careers.
