Hollywood star Jack Nicholson plays an anger management therapist in his latest film, but wasn't able to keep his own temper in check at a recent NBA game.
The longtime Los Angeles Lakers fan lost his cool during the US basketball playoffs after a foul was called on top player Shaquille O'Neal. Stepping out onto the edge of the court, Jack began to yell at the game referee. Told by officials to return to his place on the sidelines, the star replied: "I pay a lot of money for this seat. This is the NBA, you can't tell me to sit down."
But the unexpected event had a happy ending – the About Schmidt actor avoided getting thrown out, having not encroached onto the playing area. And after Jack settled back into his $500-a-ticket seat, his team went on to victory, scooping a 110-95 win over rivals the San Antonio Spurs. The Tinseltown legend's act of loyalty didn't go by unappreciated by Shaquille. "I'm glad somebody sticks up for me," said the athlete the following day. "I appreciate it, Jack."
