Hollywood hunk George Clooney has been enjoying a relaxing break at his luxury villa on Lake Como. The actor was overseeing restoration work on the lakeside mansion, Villa Oleandra, which he bought last year for $7 million.
The 42-year-old fell in love with the 18th-century bolthole after his friend Brad Pitt told him he should take a look at it. His Ocean's Eleven co-star had come across the house while he and wife Jennifer Aniston were visiting fashion designer Donatella Versace, who lives nearby.
George was also taken with the tranquil waters of the lake, which are a world away from the raging seas he battled in the film The Perfect Storm. The 25-room house boasts its own jetty and an extensive garden.
And the handsome star has already welcomed his family to the scenic hideaway. He was spotted chaperoning his grandmother around the town of Laglio and his father, the former newscaster Nick Clooney, has also visited.
George can count the cream of Italian society among his new neighbours, as Lake Como is a favourite playground for nearby Milan's rich and famous.
