It's been a busy few days for movie stars – and their fans – as a series of glamorous premieres took place in New York, Los Angeles and London.
Harrison Ford took girlfriend Calista Flockhart to the screening of his new comedy Hollywood Homicide in California. In the film he plays a hardened cop who's forced to work with a bohemian younger partner.
Josh Hartnett plays his yoga-loving sidekick who's more interested in going to the theatre than jailing bad guys. And it seemed to be a case of life imitating art, as Harrison gruffly dismissed journalists' questions, but Josh was more friendly. "It takes a while to get to know Harrison," explained the 24-year-old. "You just have to be patient – he'll warm to you eventually."
On the East Coast, meanwhile, French actress Juliette Binoche was keeping the paparazzi busy at the premiere of her new flick Jet Lag. Stunning in a Dior gown, Juliette told journalists the screwball comedy, which co-stars her countryman Jean Reno, wasn't all that different from her usual, more high-brow work. "You have to be as convincing in comedy as in drama," she said. Juliette was joined at the screening by renowned photographer Richard Avedon and movie legend Lauren Bacall.
Across the water in Britain, meanwhile, opera star Charlotte Church turned out for the London premiere of her big screen debut, I'll Be There. She was accompanied to the event by her mother, while boyfriend Steven Johnson was nowhere to be seen.
There has been talk of a rift between Steven and Charlotte's mum Maria Church, and Charlotte was candid when asked about the rumours. "My family love me to bits, but they don't think he's the ideal person for me," she said. "My mum doesn't like Steven. I'm sure there are thousands of mother across the country who don't like their daughter's boyfriends, but it just so happens everyone is interested in mine."
