Antipodean hunk Russell Crowe has been speaking for the first time about his impending fatherhood. The Oscar-winning actor, who married girlfriend Danielle Spencer in a lavish three-day celebration last April, said he is eagerly looking forward to becoming a dad.
"I'm ecstatic, really pleased," he said in an interview. "Danni is 14 weeks and three days. So it is a lot of fun and she is feeling all the effects of it."
The Gladiator star, who had developed a reputation as a hard-drinking wildman before his wedding to Danielle, also says he has moderated his schedule since tying the knot.
"I think the fact that she's pregnant is because of that, it's because I haven't really been running around doing the schedule at other people's beck and call," said the 39-year-old. "It felt like a good time to take a little time off, three Academy campaigns in a row, that's a lot of attention, a lot of other people's desires and aspirations, sometimes successfully, sometimes not."
As to whether the happy couple are hoping for a big family, Russell indicated there may be more little Crowes in the future. "She's sort of thinking one or two, maybe three. We'll see."
