Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest movie tells the story of an army of robots hell-bent on taking over the world. But the muscle-bound actor was met by an army of fans, hell-bent on meeting their favourite star, when he turned out for the premiere of Terminator 3 in London's Leicester Square.
The 55-year-old, who was accompanied by wife Maria Shriver, showed his delight by spending 20 minutes chatting with some of the 8,000-strong crowd. "It's terrific to see such enthusiasm," he said. "If the fans go to see this movie it means they want more Terminator and I will be back for number four."
The former Mr Universe, who became the butt of tabloid jokes after gaining weight recently, also admitted it was hard work to regain his legendary physique. "It was tough work getting into shape," he said. "It really took discipline to stay away from the junk food."
Looking characteristically svelte, meanwhile, was his co-star Claire Danes. And Kristanna Loken, who plays the first female terminator, dazzled the crowd with an £80,000 diamond necklace. But it was British model Nell McAndrew who stole the show, with a risqué miniskirt and halterneck top.
