Sir Anthony Hopkins teamed up with Nicole Kidman at the weekend, as their new film The Human Stain was shown at the Toronto Film Festival.
The Oscar-winning pair both turned out for the screening of the film, which tells the story of a college professor who is accused of racism and then embarks on an affair with a much younger woman.
Speaking to reporters at the premiere, Nicole said that age difference shouldn't be any barrier to two people falling in love. "I've never been one to think that age matters," said the actress. "Be it a 70-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, or a 70-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man. They should be allowed to have a connection.
"There's a huge age difference in this relationship. In the film Anthony Hopkins says to me: 'This is not my first love, or my great love, but my last love'. I'm very proud to play complicated women in different kinds of relationships."
And Sir Anthony, who was accompanied by new wife Stella Arroyave, played down controversy over the film's steamy love scenes. "All this talk of chemistry, there's no such thing," he declared. "You know your lines, show up on time, do it and go home."
