Nicole Kidman stole the show for a second day at the Toronto Film Festival, as she turned out to promote her new film The Human Stain. The Australian actress is serving double duty at the movie fest, as another of her flicks, Dogville is also screening during the event.
But Nicole wasn't the only Aussie blonde in the spotlight. Oscar nominee Cate Blanchett is showcasing her latest offering, Veronica Guerin, in the Canadian city. Cate's portrayal of the crusading Irish journalist who was killed by underworld figures in 1996 has already won the plaudits of movie critics. "(Veronica) was an incredibly, incredibly complex and remarkable woman," said the 34-year-old star.
While Hollywood's first ladies were talking movies, one of its favourite sons was a few streets away doing his best to avoid the flashbulbs. The inimitable Woody Harrelson decided to duck out of the festival and take part in an open-air yoga session in Toronto's King's College Park.
"It's a time to relax and just be loose," said the 42-year-old actor, who was casually dressed in pink shorts and t-shirt. Calling on his fans to adopt a more organic lifestyle, the health-conscious hunk also said it's essential that people watch what they eat. "What you put into your body is so important, and you have to be aware of the fuel you put into your body in order to remain balanced and centred," he declared.
No doubt movie fans will be treated to many more words of wisdom as stars from all over the world arrive for the festival. In the course of its action-packed 10-day schedule, some 300 films from 53 countries will be shown. Other big names jetting in for the event include Nicolas Cage, Sofia Coppolla and Meg Ryan.
