Screen siren Halle Berry fell victim to a practical joke when she turned out for the premiere of her new film, Gothika, in Los Angeles. Looking stunning in a tangerine dress, the Oscar-winning actress sent photographers into a frenzy when she arrived on the red carpet. But she was clearly shocked when security guards refused to grant her entry to the screening.

Halle did her best to convince the bouncers that she was the star of the film, but much to her dismay, they didn't believe a word of it. The smile returned to her face, however, when Demi Moore's boyfriend Ashton Kutcher appeared and told her she'd been set up. The handsome actor, who was presenting the MTV show Punk'd, had arranged the stunt in advance. His latest victim can take comfort in the fact that she's not the first celeb to be duped by the show. Previous targets have included Justin Timberlake, Pink, and Kelly Osbourne.

Once inside, Halle was joined by Will Smith and co-star Penelope Cruz. Also in attendance was Robert Downey Jr, who revealed that he became the butt of endless jokes after injuring Halle during filming. "I accidentally broke her arm," revealed the 38-year-old. "One minute we were stage fighting and then she just stopped. The first thing I said was 'Oh my God – call an ambulance'." After that, the actor found himself on the receiving end of relentless japes from the rest of the crew. "All the girls on set would pretend to be scared when I came near them. They did their best to make me feel embarrassed."
