Nicole Kidman has quashed rumours that she's set to marry rocker Lenny Kravitz, declaring: "I am still a woman by myself."
Though talk that she and the American musician would tie the knot was sparked after Nic was spotted wearing a huge diamond ring on her engagement finger, the actress has repeatedly declared her singleton status during interviews promoting her latest movie, Cold Mountain.
"My thing is I'm just trying to do my work, raise my children and I hope at some stage I will find someone to love me and who I'll be able to love," she told one publication, adding: "At the moment I am still a woman by myself."
When she does find a partner, she tells a US magazine, she won't be in a hurry to march down the aisle. "I can't make a mistake," she says. "So I'd rather not have anyone than settle for the wrong person."
In a separate TV interview, Nicole said that when it comes to romance and work, love must come first – something she demonstrated when she cut back on her career to concentrate on her marriage to ex-husband Tom Cruise. "For me it is all or nothing," she says, in reference to her current non-stop filmmaking schedule. "When I did that in my 20s, Tom was my priority and my work was not. Now… I don't have that person in my life that is more important."
However, the mother-of-two adopted children also confessed she has hopes of expanding her family. "I'd love to have another baby," she said. "I like children. My sister has three. It would be nice, one more."
Keep a look out for our exclusive interview with Nicole in next week's issue of the magazine, out on Tuesday.
