Australia's favourite daughter and one of Britain's favourite sons got a royal welcome at the weekend, when the film Cold Mountain had its UK premiere. The flick's stars, Nicole Kidman and Jude Law, were greeted by Prince Charles at the Leicester Square screening.
The future King left Nicole a little baffled, however, when he asked her about her role in Enigma. When the actress told him she had starred in Moulin Rouge, but not Enigma, a slightly red-faced Prince said: "You've done a bit since then". "Yes, a few things," she responded.
The Oscar-winning actress, who wore a white and bronze Chanel outfit, was eager to talk about her latest movie, which is set during the American Civil War. "It was a wonderful experience working on this. I loved it because it was so traditional," she said.
Nicole declined to answer questions about her relationship with rock star Lenny Kravitz, but there was little hesitation when reporters asked her if she still believed in romance. "Of course, if you give up on that, what's the point," she affirmed. "My parents celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in ten days and that gives me something to aspire to."
And Jude, who was accompanied by new girlfriend Sienna Miller, was eager to praise his co-star. "Working with Nicole was a real thrill," he declared.
