Although she and Tom Cruise are no longer lovers, Penelope Cruz has flown out to Germany to meet up with her former flame.
The Last Samurai star has been staying at the Four Seasons in Berlin while he scouts around for locations to film Mission Impossible III. And Penelope decided to jet out to the German capital for a break from work on her latest flick Sahara.
After the Spanish beauty checked into the same hotel under a false name, word quickly spread that the two were spending time together. But sources close to the pair have poured cold water on suggestions they might get back together.
"It is not a reconciliation or a fresh start," explained Penelope's spokesman Antonio Rubial. "It is true that Penelope Cruz travelled to Berlin last weekend, where she met up with Tom Cruise and a group of friends from the United States. It's true that Cruise had to be in Berlin where he is currently seeking locations for the filming of Mission Impossible III. And it is also true that they were both staying in the Four Seasons hotel.
"But all that simply confirms one primary truth - that since the announcement of their break-up, they have maintained a wonderful friendship. They talk on the telephone and they meet up frequently – in Berlin, Los Angeles, or whatever other city in the world where they happen to coincide."
