A series of high-profile public appearances has revealed that Sharon Stone is once again on top form and looking especially radiant.

The 46-year-old actress, who suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2001 which very nearly cost her her life, was positively glowing at a gala this week in honour of her old friend Richard Gere.

Wearing a stunning backless tangerine-coloured gown which showed off her enviable figure at the Wednesday bash, the crop-haired actress was equally radiant the following afternoon, when she announced the nominees for the Crest Style Awards. Dressed in killer heels and an elegant low-cut halter dress, the actress was clearly still the epitome of glamour.

The blonde bombshell, whose marriage to newspaper editor Phil Bronstein came to an end last year, revealed that a new romance has contributed to her new aura of wellbeing. Asked whether her relationship with lawyer Bernie Cahill could be part of the reason for her glowing smile, she admitted: "I guess it is."

She says her past health and relationships challenges have helped make her a calmer person and reinvigorated her long-standing interest in spirituality. Just last week she took to the stage with the Dalai Lama, when he met students at a university in California.
