Friends star Jennifer Aniston has signed up to be the new face of Barclaycard. The 35-year-old actress will appear in a series of advertisements for the credit card company to be launched in the UK next month.
The firm is hoping Jennifer's participation will help them attract more female customers. She will feature in television ads promoting Barclaycard as "the key to funding life's ups and downs".
The deal with Jen is something of a coup for the firm, which has suffered a number of public relations blunders of late. Most recently it was forced to withdraw its "zero per cent forever" campaign, after the Office Of Fair Trading deemed it to be "highly misleading".
Details of the deal remain under wraps, but Jennifer is just the latest in a long line of stars who have appeared in ads for Barclays Bank. Previous campaigns have featured Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tim Roth, Dudley Moore and Rowan Atkinson. It has also been announced that British actor Gary Oldman will replace Samuel L Jackson, who fronts their current publicity drive.
