Friends star Courteney Cox and her husband David Arquette are celebrating the birth of their first child. Daughter Coco was born on Sunday in Los Angeles after the actress went into labour a week early.
Courteney, who will turn 40 on Tuesday, and her husband had suffered long-running fertility problems and revealed last year that they were attempting to conceive via in-vitro ferlization. The news will delight Friends fans, who have followed Courteney's onscreen character Monica go through similar problems, culminating with the adoption of twins in the just-screened final ever episode. And, like hygiene-obsessed Monica, Courteney has been preparing her home for her new arrival, "Courteney has been scrubbing every visible surface in their home," a friend said.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic in Great Britain, another Cox is celebrating the birth of her bundle of joy. Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox gave birth to a 7lb 11oz baby girl on the same day as Courteney. Sara, 29, and her DJ husband Jon Carter have named their daughter Lola Anne. "We are both totally bowled over and completely in love," the couple said in a statement.
