Kirsten Dunst served up a fashion ace at the UK premiere of her new movie Wimbledon. The 22-year-old made her entrance in a glittering 1920s-style Chanel number with diamante detail, much to the delight of the waiting crowds.
Also turning heads at the Leicester Square screening was top model Sophie Anderton, who donned a figure-hugging green dress with tennis-ball print. And Olympic gold medallist Kelly Holmes turned on the style in a clinging Roland Mouret gown.
In the movie Kirsten plays a tennis starlet who falls in love with one of her fellow players. British actor Paul Bettany meanwhile takes on the role of Peter Colt, a fading hero of the game. The 33-year-old, who has also appeared in A Beautiful Mind and Dogville, admitted that portraying a professional athlete was no easy task.
"They hit the ball really hard, they move beautifully, their bodies are so well organised," he said. "It's like saying I'd like to play Rudolph Nureyev - how long do I have to do it?"
To prepare for the film, both he and Kirsten trained six hours a day with former Wimbledon champ Pat Cash. Indeed Paul's Oscar-winning wife Jennifer Connelly, who was also at the screening, described him as one of the most dedicated actors around. "I gave birth to our son while he was filming, so I don’t know who had the harder days," she joked.
