The shoe shops of London may find themselves enjoying a surge in demand after newly-single Keira Knightley revealed her next beau will need to be well-shod. The Pirates Of The Caribbean star, who admitted to being deeply upset by her recent split with model boyfriend Jaime Dornan, has thrown down the gauntlet for any young bachelors who want to win her affections.

"I'd go for someone who is a little bit brooding and somebody you can have a good conversation with, a good fight with, and who will always keep you guessing and makes you laugh," she revealed. The 20-year-old has one more requirement before she will consider a prospective candidate, however: "He has to have good shoes."

Keira, who was speaking in an interview with the Daily Mirror, says she's in no rush to enter into another long-term relationship. "We all need romance in our lives, but marriage and living happily ever after is not something I think about at the moment and certainly won't for a while," she affirmed.

That's not to say she doesn't notice when a hunky man comes her way. Working with Spooks star Matthew MacFadyen on a new screen version of Pride And Prejudice seems to have made quite and impression on the svelte performer. "One of the most romantic things in the world is a proper man, and Matthew plays Darcy with huge vulnerability which makes him really interesting," she said. "He did a spectacular job and I'm an even bigger fan of his now."

While a decent pair of shoes may pave the way to Keira's heart, the sort of brooding vulnerability demonstrated by her Pride And Prejudice co-star Matthew MacFadyen would clearly be appreciated, too
