She's become renowned for her trendy-but-casual Boho-chic style, but Alfie actress Sienna Miller has shown that when the moment calls for it, she's more than capable of turning back the clock to deliver old-fashioned, red carpet glamour.

The 23-year-old was looking every inch the Hollywood star when she stepped out to a screening of her new flick Casanova at the Venice Film Festival. In a Grecian-style sheath of steel-hued silk, with a string of ruby crystals around her neck and her hair piled elegantly atop her head, the actress, who is currently estranged from fiancé Jude Law after he cheated on her with his children's nanny, was the embodiment of Tinseltown glamour.

Also setting flashbulbs popping at the screening of her latest film Elizabethtown was the ever-glamorous Susan Sarandon. The flame-haired Thelma And Louise star's choice of a figure-hugging gown with a low décolletage underlined the fact that the 59-year-old actress is still one of the screen's most glamorous personalities.

With its waterways positively awash with famous names, Venice was offering one photo opportunity after another over the weekend. Matt Damon and Heath Ledger were snapped leaping energetically from their launch upon arrival at a photocall for their movie The Brothers Grimm, while the following day their beautiful co-star Monica Belluci made her own contribution to promoting the flick when she took to the red carpet at the Venice Lido in a strappy, skintight number in black satin.

Other names getting shutters clicking across town included Hollywood hunk Orlando Bloom, Jeremy Irons, Bjork and Kirsten Dunst.
